Work on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Statue in Malvan Gains Momentum

Rajkot, August 29: In the wake of the mishap involving the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at Malvan, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has expedited efforts to re-erect the statue at the same location. In recent days, the Chief Minister has engaged with several sculptors to ensure the swift and accurate reconstruction of the statue.

A special meeting was convened yesterday at Varsha, the official residence of the Chief Minister, to address the issue. During this meeting, CM Shinde consulted with prominent sculptors, including Shashikant Wadke and Vinay Wagh. Today, senior sculptor Ram Sutar also met with the Chief Minister at Varsha, where they had an in-depth discussion about the statue's reinstallation. In addition to these meetings, CM Shinde plans to consult with more sculptors to gather a wide range of perspectives and inputs.

In response to the incident, the government has announced the formation of two technical committees. The first committee, chaired by Commodore Pawan Dhingra, a veteran with over 20 years of experience in the Indian Navy, will consist of five members. This committee's primary responsibility is to investigate the cause of the mishap and determine who is accountable for the accident.

The second committee, chaired by Mrs. Manisha Mhaiskar, Additional Chief Secretary of the Public Works Department, will oversee the reinstallation process. This committee will be responsible for planning and executing the erection of the new statue at the same site.

The state government is committed to restoring the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, ensuring it stands as a symbol of pride and heritage for future generations.
