Western Railway has announced a significant 10-hour block on the Up and Down Slow lines and the Down Fast line between Goregaon and Kandivali stations. This block, scheduled from 00:00 hrs to 10:00 hrs on the night of September 7th to September 8th, 2024, is to facilitate the construction of the 6th line in this section.
In a press release, Shri Vineet Abhishek, Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, detailed the changes that passengers should expect during the block period. All Up Slow line trains will be diverted to the Up Fast line between Borivali and Goregaon. Likewise, Down Slow line trains will use the Down Fast line from Andheri, with these services being managed at Platform No. 7 of Goregaon station.
For passengers traveling between Goregaon and Borivali, Down Slow line trains will operate on the 5th line. Due to platform constraints, these trains will not stop at Ram Mandir, Malad, and Kandivali stations. Additionally, some Churchgate-Borivali Slow train services will be short-terminated and reversed at Goregaon station.
Travelers are also advised that Mail/Express trains in both Up and Down directions will experience delays of approximately 10 to 20 minutes due to the ongoing block.
