Western Railway has scheduled a comprehensive Jumbo Block spanning five hours, from 10:00 hrs to 15:00 hrs, between Borivali and Goregaon stations on both UP and DOWN Slow lines, slated for Sunday, 21st April, 2024. This vital maintenance endeavor aims to facilitate essential upkeep of tracks, signalling systems, and overhead equipment along the designated stretch.
Shri Sumit Thakur, Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, elaborated on the significance of the Jumbo Block, emphasizing its pivotal role in ensuring the reliability and smooth functioning of railway infrastructure. During the stipulated block period, all UP and DOWN Slow line trains will be diverted to the UP and DOWN Fast lines between Borivali and Goregaon Stations, facilitating uninterrupted maintenance activities.
Impact on Services and Alternative Arrangements:
As a consequence of the Jumbo Block, a number of UP and DOWN suburban services will stand cancelled, with select Andheri and Borivali trains rerouted to Goregaon on the Harbour line. Additionally, passengers are advised that no trains will be serviced from Platform No. 01, 02, 03, and 04 at Borivali station during the maintenance period. Detailed information regarding the affected services and alternative arrangements is available through concerned Station Masters, while the list of cancelled trains can be accessed at the Station Master’s office.
