Skillfull Maharashtra prosperous Maharashtra

Mumbai 27 July 2023 : 'Skillful Maharashtra, Prosperous Maharashtra' to achieve this vision, Skills,Employment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation department has been instrumental in organizing various initiatives. It includes the organization of Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Youth Empowerment Career Guidance Workshops, Employment Fairs and Industry Meets to foster collaboration for employment generation. Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha today provided answers to the questions raised by esteemed members in the Legislative Council regarding the efforts of skill development department. In which he highlighted the achievements of these ambitious initiatives undertaken by the department.

Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Youth Empowerment Career Guidance Workshops

To provide information about various career opportunities available to students and to offer guidance to students and their parents in the context of these diverse career options, Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Youth Empowerment Career Guidance workshops have been organized in 260 constituencies across the state. These workshops aimed to guide and counsel students and youth about different career paths and opportunities available to them. A total of 174,638 students in Maharashtra have benefited from this workshop, and 15,493 parents have also participated in it. To provide information about various career opportunities to students, youth, and parents in the state, the Skill Development Department will create a permanent helpline in number in next 15 days. Starting from September, students in government-industrial training institutes in the state will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 500. The announcement was made by the honorable minister, stating that the stipend amount for students will increase from Rs. 40 to Rs. 500. This implementation will be effective from the beginning of this academic year in September, as per the minister's statement.

Employment Fairs

Under the Skill Development, Employment, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation Department, the state of Maharashtra organized more than 600 job fairs and events, facilitating the participation of various companies, corporate entities, and industries. As per the data received till 31st May 2023, 88,108 job seekers were provided with employment opportunities. Minister also assured that job fairs will be organized in ITI institutes and polytechnic schools in our state. The government is aiming provide employment 5 lakh  youngsters.

Industry Meet

To facilitate employment opportunities for the youth, the state has collaborated with various establishments through the initiative of 'Industry Meet.' Through this program, efforts are made to establish mutual understanding and agreements for providing employment opportunities to the youth. On November 16, 2022, MoU's were signed with 44 registered entrepreneurs, corporate organizations, industrial associations, and placement agencies in the state to provide employment opportunities to 1,21,000 youth in industries and corporate entities. Through this agreement, employment opportunities have been made available for unemployed youth in various sectors such as Hospitality, Media and Entertainment, Construction, Retail, Banking, Aviation, etc. Eligible candidates with qualifications ranging from 10th pass to post-graduates, including diploma holders in Pharmacy, ITI, Polytechnic, Engineering, etc. As a result, 78,000 young individuals have been employed. Similarly, in the Industry Meets held in Pune, agreements were made with companies for 2,07,000 job opportunities, and in the Industry Meet held in Thane, agreements were made with companies for 2,57,000 job opportunities.
