Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan received a death threat over a call to the Mumbai Police’s Bandra station, following a string of similar threats recently directed at fellow actor Salman Khan. Mumbai Police have registered a case under Sections 308 (4) and 351 (3)(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita against an unidentified caller.
The threat against Shah Rukh Khan comes just days after Salman Khan received two death threats, allegedly from members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The first threat demanded a ₹2 crore ransom, while a second message gave him two choices: apologize at their temple or pay ₹5 crore to stay safe. Both threats were received by Mumbai Traffic Police over WhatsApp.
In response to these incidents, the Bandra Police and the Cyber Police Station have begun investigations to trace the callers. Early reports indicate that the call threatening Shah Rukh Khan was traced to Raipur, Chhattisgarh, prompting Mumbai Police teams to depart for Chhattisgarh as part of their probe.
The security around both actors has been tightened as the police work to locate the sources of these threats and ensure the safety of the Bollywood icons.
