On September 17, 2024, Reliance Jio customers across India experienced a major network outage. Many users reported issues with mobile internet and frequent call drops. The disruption affected both mobile and fiber internet services.
The company quickly acknowledged the issue, confirming that the outage was due to a technical problem. A spokesperson for Reliance Jio said, "This morning, some Jio customers in Mumbai faced problems in availing seamless services on account of minor technical issues. The same has been resolved, and seamless services of Jio have been fully restored. We regret the inconvenience to our subscribers."
Reports suggest that the outage was caused by a fire at one of Reliance Jio’s data centers. Fortunately, the fire has been contained, and services have resumed.
Reliance Jio apologized for the inconvenience and assured customers that services are now back to normal.
