Mumbai: Thursday, 05 Sep 24 тАУ The NCC Directorate Maharashtra has achieved an extraordinary milestone by winning the prestigious All India Nau Sainik Camp Trophy for the second consecutive year. This accolade was awarded at the conclusion of the All India Nau Sainik Camp, held from 25 August 2024 to 05 September 2024 at INS Shivaji, Lonavala.
The Nau Sainik Camp, conducted under the aegis of the Director General NCC (DG NCC), witnessed the participation of 612 cadets from 17 directorates across India. The camp featured a series of challenging activities, including Boat Pulling, Rigging, Semaphore, Service Subjects, Health & Hygiene, and Firing.
The camp was inaugurated by Vice Admiral Gurcharan Singh AVSM, NM, Commandant of the National Defence Academy, on 25 August 2024. During the event, DG NCC, Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh PVSM, AVSM, VSM, visited the camp, interacted with the cadets, and honored those who excelled in Firing and Semaphore. The closing ceremony, held on 05 September 2024, was graced by Maj Gen S Chawla, VSM, ADG (B), HQ DG NCC.
Maj Gen Yogender Singh, VSM, ADG of the NCC Directorate Maharashtra, expressed immense pride in the cadets' performance, highlighting their remarkable achievement in retaining the Nau Sainik Camp trophy. He extended his gratitude to the Commanding Officer of INS Shivaji, the Southern Naval Command, and the Government of Maharashtra for their unwavering support towards the NCC cadets.
This achievement underscores the exceptional skills and dedication of the NCC Directorate Maharashtra, reinforcing its reputation as a leading force in national cadet training and development.
