Muslim Protest Rally Stopped at Mulund Check Naka; 12,000 Protestors Head Back After Mumbai Entry Blocked

Mumbai, September 24, 2024 – A large protest rally, called the 'Tiranga Samvidhan Rally,' was stopped at Mulund Check Naka in Mumbai on Monday night. Led by former MP Imtiaz Jaleel of AIMIM, the rally included over 12,000 protestors from the Muslim community. They were demanding action against BJP MLA Nitesh Rane and preacher Ramgiri Maharaj for their alleged hate speeches.

The protest started in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and traveled towards Mumbai via the Samruddhi Expressway. The convoy, made up of hundreds of vehicles, caused a major traffic jam on the expressway, which had never been blocked by a protest before.

When the rally reached the Mulund toll plaza, the protestors were not allowed to enter Mumbai. After delivering their complaints to the divisional collector and other officials, the group peacefully dispersed and returned home.
