"MPs, MLAs, State Officials, and Media Embrace 'Day at Sea' Aboard Naval Ships in Mumbai"

On November 3, the Indian Navy's Western Naval Command hosted a 'Day at Sea' for MPs, MLAs, government officials, and media professionals, during which the dignitaries boarded frontline vessels of the Western Fleet. The purpose of the Day at Sea was to educate lawmakers, government officials, and media professionals on the critical role the Navy plays in national security and nation-building, as well as to expose them to the rigours and trials of life at sea. The event was in keeping with the Hon'ble Prime Minister's aim of increasing marine awareness across all parts of society, particularly in coastal areas.

182 visitors, including 40 media representatives, boarded Western Fleet frontline vessels. The visitors were given the opportunity to experience day-to-day naval activities and living onboard Indian Navy ships. An operational demonstration was held for the embarked crew, which comprised exercises such as asymmetric threat defence, missile attack execution, replenishment at sea, and helicopter operations. The guests were also given a tour of the ships that were docked.
