Amid the intensity of the ongoing Assembly elections, two legislators took a short break from campaigning to enjoy some local flavors. Amin Patel, the current MLA from Mumbadevi in Mumbai, and Ratan Dewasi, the sitting MLA from Raniwada, Rajasthan, visited the popular eatery Gandhi Vadapav in Kumbharwada.
Gandhi Vadapav, a well-loved spot run by Manisha Gandhi since 1996, is famous among locals for its tasty snacks. The eatery has served generations and continues to be a favorite in the area. For Patel and Dewasi, this was a chance to connect with voters informally and to unwind amidst their busy schedules.
Amin Patel, contesting for re-election from the Mumbadevi seat as a candidate of the Indian National Congress, welcomed the break and the chance to engage with residents over a plate of fresh vadapavs. Dewasi, in Mumbai to support the Congress campaign, enjoyed the experience as well, blending the spirit of Rajasthan with Mumbai’s popular street food culture.
Their visit drew attention from locals, who gathered to greet the two leaders. For the voters and supporters present, it was a unique moment to see their representatives in a more relaxed setting, sharing a meal and joining in the lively atmosphere of Kumbharwada.
As election day approaches, such interactions bring a personal touch to the otherwise intense campaign trail, reminding voters of the community spirit that binds leaders and citizens alike.
