New Delhi, 8th November 2024: Indian Railways has concluded its month-long *Special Campaign 4.0*, which ran from October 2 to November 2, 2024, with impressive results across multiple areas including cleanliness, grievance resolution, and operational efficiency. The campaign, which aimed to promote cleanliness, reduce pending work, and engage the public, exceeded expectations in several key aspects.
A total of *56,168 cleanliness drives* were conducted across Indian Railways, surpassing the target of 50,000. These drives focused on improving the hygiene of railway stations and workplaces. In addition, the disposal of scrap freed up *12.15 lakh square feet* of space, generating a substantial revenue of *Rs. 452.40 Crores* for the railways.
One of the major successes of the campaign was the resolution of *2.5 lakh public grievances, as well as addressing **1065 MP references* and *138 state government cases. Notably, **65 out of 69 PMO references* were cleared, along with *55 out of 139 Parliamentary Assurances. The campaign also saw the review of over **1.6 lakh files, resulting in the removal of more than **89,000 outdated records*, enhancing record-keeping practices.
To engage the public, special *Rail Chaupals* were held at major stations such as New Delhi, Jaipur, Chennai, and Kolkata. These community sessions focused on raising awareness about cleanliness, sustainability, and reducing the use of single-use plastics. The campaign also gained significant traction on social media, with *3713 tweets* posted, generating widespread public interest.
The success of Special Campaign 4.0 highlights Indian Railways' commitment to improving operational efficiency and maintaining a clean, organized environment. Through these initiatives, the Railway ministry aims to enhance passenger experience and contribute to the overall goal of a cleaner and more efficient transport system.
