Indian Navy Intensifies Flood Relief Operations in Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh – In response to the devastating flooding caused by heavy rainfall in the coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh, the Indian Navy, under the Eastern Naval Command, has significantly ramped up its relief efforts. The Navy has been actively engaged in assisting state authorities and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) to provide crucial aid to affected communities.

As part of its ongoing operations, the Indian Navy has deployed helicopters for aerial relief missions. To date, these helicopters have successfully air-dropped 1,820 kg of food packets and 22 kg of medicines to stranded individuals in inundated areas.

Flood Relief Teams (FRTs) have also been mobilized and are currently operating in Ajit Singh Nagar in the NTR District. These teams are distributing food and relief materials and facilitating the evacuation of residents from areas accessible by Gemini boats.

Furthermore, technical teams are stationed at Vijayawada Airport to ensure the smooth operation of aircraft involved in the relief efforts. The Indian Navy remains committed to providing continued support to mitigate the impact of the floods and assist those in need.
