Due to heavy rains in Nagpur and its surrounding areas, the city's Ambazari, Sitabuldi, Mor Bhawan, Variety Chowk, and other areas were flooded during the early hours of the morning. The District Collector, Nagpur, requisitioned Indian Army flood relief columns from Headquarters Uttar Maharashtra and Gujrat Sub Area. On September 23rd, two columns of the Indian Army with engineer equipment and boats were deployed in the Ambazari region for flood rescue efforts. The Indian Army rescued over 40 people of different ages and supplied them with medical assistance. The situation has been stabilised.
However, in light of the growing flood scenario in Nagpur, Kamptee, and Chandrapur, the Indian Army has been placed on high alert.
