New Delhi: Union Ministers Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya and Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia jointly unveiled commemorative postage stamps for the XXXIII Paris 2024 Olympics. The ceremony, attended by notable sports icons like bronze medallist Shri Sarabjot Singh, former cricketer Shri Akash Chopra, and steeplechase athlete Smt. Sudha Singh, highlighted India's commitment to sports and national pride.
Dr. Mandaviya emphasized the government's efforts to support athletes through programs like Khelo India and TOPS, noting that 28 of the 117 athletes representing India in Paris are products of these initiatives. Shri Scindia praised the stamps as a tribute to India's sports legacy and expressed hope that they would inspire young athletes. The event concluded with a call to #Cheer4Bharat and support India's Olympic contingent.
