India Aims Linguistic Prosperity by 2047, Says Union Minister Ajay Kumar Mishra in Ambitious Vision

On November 23, 2023, a Joint Regional Official Language Conference was held in Mumbai by the Department of Official Languages of the Ministry of Home Affairs. The conference was hosted by Maharashtra's governor, Shri Ramesh Bais, and attended by Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shri Ajay Kumar Mishra. Awards were presented to various central government departments, government-owned businesses, banks, the city Rajbhasha Implementation Committee, government employees, and authorities for their outstanding work in promoting and disseminating Hindi, the official language.

Governor Bais declared that language is the essence of each nation and society, serving as a medium of expression for national sentiments and communication. He emphasized that Hindi embodies the distinct cultural characteristics of India and serves as the medium through which Indians express their joys, sufferings, hopes, despairs, ideas, difficulties, and wishes.

Rajya Pal stated that all Indian languages are considered "national languages," and there is no rivalry between them. He stated that Hindi was created and evolved in tandem with India's regional tongues, and other Indian languages will emerge due to its large body of subject matter.

Union Minister Mishra stated that prizes are presented to support Rajbhasha's efforts and that there should be no rivalry between languages or politics in the name of language. He also mentioned that the Department of Official Language is developing technology projects such as the Leela App, Kanthastha, e-Maha dictionary, and Hindi word Sindhu.

The conference also featured senior officials and staff from several Central Government departments, including Dr. Meenakshi Jo Lee, Joint Secretary, Department of Official Languages, Ministry of Home Affairs, Secretary Bhuvan Chandra Pathak, Managing Director of Nuclear Power Corporation Limited, and Smt.
