Grand Passing Out Parade Marks Culmination of Training at Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala


Ezhimala, Kerala: In a dazzling display of precision and discipline, 158 trainees, including Midshipmen and Cadets, marked the successful culmination of their training at the Passing Out Parade (POP) held at the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, on Saturday, November 25, 2023.

The parade saw the participation of 158 trainees, comprising Midshipmen of the 105th Indian Naval Academy Course, cadets of the 38th Naval Orientation Course (Coast Guard), and the 35th and 36th Naval Orientation Course (Extended). Notably, the passing out trainees included eight foreign cadets from five countries: Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Myanmar, and the first international women trainee from Mauritius.

Adm R Hari Kumar, Chief of the Naval Staff, presided over the Parade as the Chief Guest, gracing the occasion with his presence. The Chief Guest awarded medals to meritorious Midshipmen and Cadets during the Ceremonial Review. The prestigious 'President’s Gold Medal' for the Indian Naval Academy B.Tech Course was bestowed upon Midshipman Ravikant Ranjan, while other outstanding performers were recognized with medals.

The Chief Guest expressed his admiration for the impeccable turnout, smart drill, and movements displayed by the passing out trainees. He particularly commended the significant representation of the first-ever international women cadet from Mauritius, emphasizing the strengthening of India’s foreign cooperation and the global recognition of its world-class training facilities.



Among the medal winners were Midshipman Sushen Pujani, who received the CNS Silver medal for the INAC B.Tech Course, and Cadet Akash Dahiya, honored with the CNS Gold Medal for NOC (Extended). The awards ceremony also included distinctions such as the FOC-in-C South Bronze Medal, FOC-in-C South Silver Medal, and the Commandant, INA Bronze Medal.

Following the Parade, the Chief Guest, Conducting Officer VAdm MA Hampiholi, and Commandant VAdm Puneet K Bahl interacted with the passing out trainees and their parents during a high tea session. The officers congratulated the trainees for their successful completion of the rigorous training and wished them well as they move forward to various Naval ships and establishments to further consolidate their training in specialized fields.

The integration of international trainees in the Indian Naval Academy not only exemplifies India's commitment to global cooperation but also showcases its excellence in providing world-class training.

The Passing Out Parade at the Indian Naval Academy stands as a testament to the dedication, discipline, and commitment of the trainees, reflecting the core values of Duty, Honour, and Courage instilled during their training.
