Ex-corporater Mohammed Siraj Shaikh has been acquitted in court for a false rape case.


In a dramatic turn of events, Mohammed Siraj, a former cooperator of Shivaji Nagar and a prominent political figure, was released from Arthur Road jail today after spending four years behind bars. This momentous occasion followed a lengthy legal battle during which Siraj faced a rape allegation, a failed bid for bail, and even secured an impressive number of votes in an MLA election while incarcerated.


The journey to this day has been marked by unwavering support from hundreds of friends, family members, and well-wishers who have stood by Siraj throughout his ordeal. The case drew significant attention as it evolved into a legal and political saga.


It all began when a girl came forward with an allegation of rape against Mohammed Siraj. The Shivaji Nagar police station swiftly filed a FIR against him. Subsequently, Siraj decided to run for an MLA election while the legal proceedings were ongoing, and remarkably, he secured a staggering 10,000 votes, showcasing the complexity of his situation.

Despite his efforts to secure bail, the court consistently denied his request, compelling him to remain in jail for four years. Throughout this time, on every court hearing date, a dedicated group of 50–60 people, comprising friends and family, showed up to support him. On the day of judgment, the courtroom was filled with over 100 people eagerly awaiting the verdict.


The court finally announced Siraj's innocence, and he was ordered to be released from custody. The jubilant crowd erupted in celebration, expressing their gratitude to God and congratulating one another on this long-awaited moment of justice.


After completing all the necessary paperwork, Mohammed Siraj emerged from Arthur Road jail to an overwhelming reception. Hundreds of supporters gathered with flower vases in hand, chanting, "Sher aaya" (the lion has arrived). A grand rally was organized, leading from Arthur Road to Shivaji Nagar, where people from various places joined to express their immense love and respect for him.


As the procession reached Shivaji Nagar, the community came together to celebrate his release and to encourage him on his journey ahead. Mohammed Siraj, visibly moved by the outpouring of support, expressed his gratitude to all those who had maintained their faith in him throughout the challenging times.


This extraordinary turn of events has not only secured Mohammed Siraj's freedom but has also left a lasting mark on the community, showcasing the power of unity, resilience, and hope in the face of adversity.
