Delhi Boy Steals Mother's Gold to Buy iPhone for Girlfriend

In a shocking incident in Delhi's Najafgarh, a Class 9 student has been apprehended by the police for allegedly stealing gold jewelry from his mother. The boy, identified as a minor, reportedly took the gold to purchase an Apple iPhone for his girlfriend and to fund her birthday party.

The theft came to light when the boy's mother reported the missing items on August 2. Among the stolen valuables were a pair of gold earrings, a gold ring, and a chain. The case initially appeared puzzling as CCTV footage showed no external intruders.

Further investigation by the Delhi police revealed that the minor son had been missing since the time of the theft. The police shifted their focus to an insider role in the crime and discovered that the boy was responsible. He had allegedly sold the stolen gold to two goldsmiths, including Kamal Verma, who has been arrested in connection with the case.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Ankit Singh confirmed the details, stating, "The investigation led us to the conclusion that the minor had taken the gold and sold it. We were able to recover the stolen items from the goldsmiths involved."

The incident has drawn attention to the increasing trend of juveniles engaging in criminal activities driven by personal motives. The boy's actions have not only caused distress to his family but also highlighted a pressing issue within the community.
