Central Railway Staff Awarded GM's Safety Award


On August 6, 2024, at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Mumbai, 17 Central Railway staff were honored with the GM’s Safety Award. This recognition was for their exceptional alertness and efforts in preventing accidents and ensuring safety in train operations.

The awardees include:

  • Mumbai Division: 9 staff, including Track Maintainers Yogesh Mali and Lalit Patil, who averted a major accident by stopping a train due to fallen OHE pillars.

  • Bhusaval Division: 4 staff, including Technician Shalini Manoj, who identified a critical crack in a wagon bolster.

  • Nagpur Division: 2 staff, including Assistant Loco Pilot Litesh Deshmukh, who detected a hot axle on a train.

  • Pune Division: 1 staff, Helper Anil Kumar, who prevented damage by halting a train due to smoke from a generator car.

  • Solapur Division: 1 staff, SSE/TRD Suresh Lokhande, who replaced a faulty LS wire.

The General Manager, Shri Ram Karan Yadav, commended their dedication, highlighting that such acts enhance passenger safety and inspire others.
