Mumbai, August 16, 2024: The Central Railway, Mumbai Division, has announced a Mega Block on its suburban sections to facilitate essential engineering and maintenance works on Sunday, August 18, 2024. The Mega Block will significantly affect suburban train services on the Main Line and Harbour Line.
Details of the Mega Block:
Main Line (Thane-Diva) – 5th & 6th Lines:
Timing: 10:50 AM to 3:20 PM
Diversion of Suburban Services:
Down Fast/Semi-Fast Locals: Trains departing from CSMT between 9:46 AM and 2:42 PM will be diverted to the Down Slow Line between Thane and Kalyan stations, making additional stops at Kalva, Mumbra, and Diva. These trains will arrive at their destinations approximately 10 minutes later than the scheduled time.
Up Fast/Semi-Fast Locals: Trains departing from Kalyan between 10:28 AM and 3:17 PM will be diverted to the Up Slow Line between Kalyan and Thane, with additional halts at Diva, Mumbra, and Kalva. These trains will be re-diverted to the Up Fast Line at Thane and will also be delayed by about 10 minutes.
Diversion of Mail/Express Trains:
Up Trains: Several long-distance trains, including the Nagpur-CSMT Sevagram Express, Chennai-CSMT Express, and Vande Bharat Express, will be diverted to the Up Fast Line between Kalyan and Thane, arriving 10-15 minutes behind schedule.
Down Trains: Trains such as the LTT-Gorakhpur Express and LTT-Patna Express will be diverted to the Down Fast Line between Thane and Kalyan, also running 10-15 minutes late.
Short Termination and Origination of Trains:
The Thiruvananthapuram-LTT Netravati Express, journey commencing on 16.08.2024, will terminate at Panvel, while its counterpart, journey commencing on 18.08.2024, will originate from Panvel.
MEMU Services:
MEMU services between Vasai Road and Diva will be partially cancelled, with trains running only between Vasai Road and Kopar during the block period. Additionally, the Ratnagiri-Diva Fast Passenger will be short terminated at Panvel.
Harbour Line (CSMT – Chunabhatti/Bandra):
Up Harbour Line: Block from 11:10 AM to 4:10 PM
Down Harbour Line: Block from 11:40 AM to 4:40 PM
Service Suspensions:
Down services from CSMT to Vashi/Belapur/Panvel and Bandra/Goregaon will be suspended from 11:16 AM to 4:47 PM and 10:48 AM to 4:43 PM, respectively.
Up services from Panvel/Belapur/Vashi and Goregaon/Bandra to CSMT will be suspended from 9:53 AM to 3:20 PM and 10:45 AM to 5:13 PM, respectively.
Alternative Arrangements:
Special services will run between Kurla and Panvel at a frequency of 20 minutes during the block period.
Harbour Line passengers are permitted to travel via the Main Line and Western Railway from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
