Central Bureau's Maharashtra-Goa Offices Unite for PM's 'Ek Tareekh Ek Ghanta Ek Saath' Clarion Call


The Prime Minister has issued a special call to action to fellow citizens in the lead-up to Gandhi Jayanti. On the 105th edition of Mann Ki Baat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a call for all citizens to participate in a single hour of shramdaan for swachhata on October 1st at 10 a.m. This would serve as a "swachhanjali" for Bapu on the eve of his Jayanti.

The Swachhata Pakhwada-Swachhata Hi Seva 2023, which is being observed from September 15 to October 2nd, includes this massive cleanliness push. Citizens from all walks of life are encouraged to participate in the real cleaning of public spaces, including markets, railway tracks, water bodies, tourist hotspots, and religious sites, as part of this massive cleanliness effort. Every town will support cleanliness activities organised by the populace, along with the Gramme Panchayat, the whole government (including civil aviation, railroads, information and technology, etc.), and public organisations. NGO/RWA/Pvt. organisations, among others, can submit an online application to the ULB/District Administration if they are interested in organising cleaning events.

The Swachhata Hi Seva—Citizens Portal, a specifically designed IT platform, will have information about the cleaning activities available to the general public at https://swachhatahiseva.com. Citizens can take images at the cleanliness location and post them to the portal as well. The webpage also includes a section urging individuals to join the Andolan and take the reins of the grassroots movement by serving as Swachhata Ambassadors.

The Central Bureau of Communication's seven offices in the Maharashtra and Goa areas will participate in a cleaning push throughout the two states in order to spread the idea that cleanliness is next to godliness. In order to take the initiative to clean up water bodies, parks, and riverfronts, several field offices will work with universities, NGOs, and commercial organisations. In select locations, the activities will also include the installation of permanent trash bins, wall painting (in Nashik and Goa), and tree planting (in Nagpur). To clean up Naldurg Fort in the Tuljapur block of the Dharashiv district, CBC Solapur is organising a cleaning campaign. It would clean up portions of Naldurg Fort on October 1 in collaboration with the State Archaeological Department, Mahila Arthik Vikas Mahamandal, Municipal Council of Naldurg, Dharithri Vidhayalya, and Unity Multicon Pvt Ltd.

The CBC Aurangabad office will conduct cleaning operations at the Aurangabad caves, which are located on the grounds of the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University. As part of this programme, Sambhajinagar Ploggers, NYKS, NSS Govt College of Arts and Science, and ASI Aurangabad will also participate. In order to support the Swachchhta hi seva programme, the CBC's Ahmednagar Unit will clean Dattasagar Lake in Khadka Village, Nevasa Block, Ahmednagar District. For this project, CBC Ahmednagar will work in tandem with Trimurti Paavan Pratishthan Education Trust.

Sant Tukdoji Maharaj University, the Lions Club, and CBC Nagpur will participate in cleaning up efforts at Gandhi Sagar Lake in Nagpur.

On October 1st, the NCC battalion and the Wardha Field Unit of CBC Wardha will clean the Dham riverside. CBC Nashik will conduct this Swachchhta drive's cleaning of the Waldevi Dam region and places in Mauje Pimpalad in Nashik.

Along with the 1st Goa battalion of NCC Swachhata, the Panaji field unit of CBC will clean up the La Campala garden in North Goa. Hi Seva has not only helped to make the environment cleaner but has also encouraged social responsibility among the general public. Waste management procedures have greatly improved as a result. Additionally, it has raised awareness about the detrimental consequences of pollution and trash on public health, causing individuals to become more mindful of their surroundings.
