Anurag Singh Thakur, Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Youth Affairs, and Sports, today inaugurated the Amrit Kalash Yatra organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra, Mumbai, under the Meri Mati Mera Desh Abhiyan in Mumbai. At the event, Nehru Yuva Kendra officials, various dignitaries, and National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers were present. In his address to the gathering, Shri Thakur urged everyone to join in remembering 75 years of Indian independence and honouring the brave individuals who gave their lives to safeguard our country. On this occasion, the Minister urged the youth to be active participants in this attempt and to contribute to the process of nation-building.
He claimed that the precious soil gathered from throughout India would create the Amrit Vatika near the War Memorial in Delhi. According to the Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting and Youth Affairs and Sports, this will be the most significant homage we can pay to our great liberation warriors. He urged everyone to commit themselves to building a thriving India by 2047.
