Mumbai: At an event commemorating the International Day of Sign Language and Dialogue, Shavina, the head of a free night college for special needs students, extended her heartfelt thanks to Amin Patel and his government for their ongoing support. The event was organized by the New Deaf Welfare Society and brought together many members of the deaf community.

Shavina, who has been running the institute since 2012, highlighted how her college provides free education tailored to students with different learning needs. Despite the challenges faced each year, Amin Patel’s support has been instrumental in keeping the institution running smoothly. Patel has provided necessary tools such as laptops, gadgets, and screen readers, enabling over 2,000 students to graduate, many of whom are now employed in prestigious positions.

"I also work here in the mornings while pursuing my studies, and I cannot thank Amin Patel enough for his immediate and continuous support," said Shavina. "Whenever we need help, he is always there for us, especially in educational matters."

The event also saw an interaction with members of the deaf community, showcasing their courage and determination to overcome challenges. Shavina emphasized that Amin Patel's contributions have not only inspired students to pursue higher education but also empowered their families.

"A society grows when every member is given an equal chance to succeed," Shavina concluded, urging everyone to embrace life's challenges with courage and a smile.

The celebration served as a reminder of the importance of inclusion and equal opportunities for all, especially those with disabilities. Amin Patel’s dedication continues to create a positive impact on the lives of many within the deaf and special needs community.
