Mumbai: Actor Sharad Kapoor, known for his roles in movies like Josh and Lakshya, has been accused of misconduct by a 32-year-old woman. The woman has filed a complaint with the Khar Police, claiming that Kapoor invited her to his home under the pretext of discussing a professional project.
The victim said she connected with Kapoor on Facebook and had several video calls with him. He invited her to meet in person to talk about a possible shoot. However, when she arrived at the location, she discovered it was not an office, but Kapoor’s house.
She alleges that once inside, a man directed her to Kapoor’s bedroom, where the actor misbehaved and touched her inappropriately. Later, she received an offensive message from Kapoor on WhatsApp, which added to her distress.
The woman shared the incident with a friend, who accompanied her to the police station to file a complaint. An FIR has been filed against Kapoor under sections 74 (Assault or use of criminal force against a woman), 75 (Sexual harassment), and 79 (Insulting the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code.
Sharad Kapoor, who made his debut in Mera Pyara Bharat in 1994, has not yet commented on the allegations. The police are currently investigating the case.
